News and updates of the last few months

Hi, how have you been?

I've been great, hope you've been too! I just have this feeling that I've been too absent lately and I miss being part of the art community and contribute with new art and creative thoughts and so on... but unfortunately I haven't been around much to do so.

That's been because of many things happening all at once in my life and other things that I'm still not used to but I'm getting there. Certain things that happened, specially on early January have been distracting me, not necessary in a bad way... but they have. But I've recently trying to control and discipline myself to work on my art and specially to have fun while doing it and enjoy the progress of creating. Since I was "disconnected" from my craft for more than half an year now, it was and still is a bit difficult to come back to the addiction of drawing (yes, creating art can be addicting! But when you've been withdrawn from it for a long time it can consume you in a negative way.  It can make you feel unable to draw, like it's not your "thing" anymore. At least with me that's the way I've been feeling... but that's about to change!) And yes, I did post two sketches that I've done this year (it was in June if I'm not mistaken...), which if you think about it doesn't make it "more than half an year away from the craft", but that's it... It does! It's already September and all I've done was two sketches the whole year. That doesn't count and certainly didn't give me any sense of accomplishment or that creative feeling that I can't put into words.

Anyway... I'm coming back and I'm already creating some new projects and already have lots of ideas for others to come.
I've been organizing thoughts and ideas, and I want to start putting finishing dates to projects so I can have some sense of progression over time.

Also, I don't know if you know or not... but I have an YouTube channel in which I've already posted two random short videos to encourage myself to record some videos with actual content worth watching. I've already developed some ideas for videos, and I'd have recorded it earlier if I had a proper computer to edit them on. The problem was that my computer broke early this year and I had to work with an old laptop to upload stuff and so on... And fortunately two months ago (If I'm not mistaken) I bought a new laptop good enough for video editing! Which means I can start recording once I have time for it.
The recording and editing of videos is going to take a bit longer still. Now it's not because of having the means to do it (since now I have a decent laptop to work on) but because my house is being painted (interior walls and stuff) and you cannot imagine the commotion, the bloody mess it is... And as you imagine with a house in such condition it does not give me the great environment for recording.
But I promise that once all of it is finished I'll be starting recording and editing right away!
